Plant Propagation by Tissue Culture 3rd Edition. Dordrecht: Springer, 2008, S. 175-204. ISBN 978-1-4020-5004-6
Auxins, together with cytokinins, control many aspects of plant development from the level of single cells and their compartments up to the level of the whole plant. Since they are involved in regulation of cell division, cell polarity establishment and maintenance, as well as cell differentiation, they are especially important in in vitro plant propagation techniques. The chapter summarizes what is known about auxin metabolism, their signalling and mode of action, including the effects of auxins and their analogues in cell, tissue and organ cultures.
