The occurrence of large quantity of steroid compounds in plants is recently quite well documented, covering many classes of phytosteroids. Only indirect evidence of vertebrate-type steroids was given. Thus, we have developed polyclonal generic antibodies against steroid structures, which will be used for development of an immunoaffinity chromatography combined with HPLC-MS.
