The Laboratory of Pollen Biology of the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic investigates regulatory mechanisms involved in the control of gene expression in three groups and at three levels:
- genome organisation and stability
- transcriptional regulation - during the development of the male gametophyte
- regulation of mRNA translation and storage - in pollen and pollen tubes
The model plants we are researching are:
- Arabidopsis thaliana
- Nicotiana tabacum
- Physcomitrella patens,
mostly their gametophytic generation.
Detailed information can be found on the website of the laboratory.
